Weekly No. 1

I haven’t blogged in forever, and one of my intentions for the New Year was to tend to this space more regularly – for no reason other than it makes me happy to write and create. So, with that, I bring you: Weekly. My hope with this is to take a little time every Friday to do a round up of things I read, listened to, or stumbled upon during the week that brought me a spark of joy, comfort, or insight. (And the cover photo each week will be a quote that really spoke to me).

This song by Zayn. I adore this song and have had it on repeat all day.

This podcast/live recording of one of Mari Andrew’s book events in D.C. This woman’s illustrations understand the inner workings of my heart, always. I just finished her beautiful book of both writing and illustration, and listening to this was such a treat! My new mantra is now “be the whiskey,” which you will understand after you take a listen.

While we’re at it, this tweet from the Queen herself, Mari Andrew. I might just do a full post about this because it really hit home for me. I feel like I’ve been on the hamster wheel of “stepping outside of my comfort zone,” which I’ve written about before – and I’m ready to just BE and stop hustling so hard in the name of growth.

This Instagram post about the metaphor of the crucifixion and resurrection.  Law School has had a boomerang effect on my anything-but-linear faith journey, but reading this post left me feeling renewed and refreshed. Glennon Doyle is equal parts prophetic and hilarious and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

This photograph of a country house in Washington that Kate Arends of Wit & Delight shared on Instagram. Swoon isn’t the word. I’ve always been entranced by beautiful interiors, and just like Kate, this one definitely makes me want to escape the city for the country.

Until next week,

xx L
